DR-Z400 Spring Tune-Up

Hello again everyone! Spring is here and the butterflies are flying!

The teardown and basic maintenance of my beloved DR-Z400S has gone quite a bit better than I had originally thought. I was planning on going for the full meal deal; changing brakes, replacing the brake fluid, checking and replacing suspension seals, draining the fuel, carb clean, spark plug and an oil change were all on the list of things to be done. After all, the bike had sat full of fuel and with the gas turned on for over five years! I did a close inspection of all the DRZ's systems and determined that the best course of action was to drain the fuel, change the oil and replace the old chain just to get a good base point.

After an evening in the garage, the bike was ready to go the next day. I rode all day with no issues to speak of whatsoever.

That was a week ago, I have since had a few good sized rides and a full day in the sand dunes to show that the beast has plenty of life in it yet, so it's time to start documenting some of the trails that we regularly ride here in West Central Alberta. Once those trails are conquered then its onto the Rocky Mountains and into B.C.'s Southern Interior where the DRZ was broke in almost 10 years ago. Thanks for taking the time to read along with my update and I hope to have tons of great content to show you in the future!
